Move aside Kardashian curse, there’s a new celebrity allegedly wreaking havoc on the sports world.

Italian soccer club AS Roma jokingly — well, at least, seemingly jokingly — barred their players from getting photos with rapper Drake earlier this week.

Tweeted the club from its English account, “All Roma players banned from taking photos with Drake until the end of the season.”

According to the Washington Post, the “ban” is meant to help safely secure the team a qualifying spot for the next season’s UEFA Champions League competition.

But what’s Drake got to do with it? CNN reported that the rapper, 32, has been seen posing for pictures with several soccer stars while touring in Europe. After the hangout sessions, the players’ teams have subsequently suffered defeats.

For example, according to CNN, Arsenal F.C. player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang attended a Drake concert in London just three days before the team lost a major Premier League game.

And Layvin Kurzawa of France’s Paris Saint-Germain posed with Drake five days ago — just before the team lost to Lille OSC in what CNN called the team’s “biggest league loss for nearly 20 years.”

A well-known sports fan — he even hosted the NBA Awards in 2017 — Drake’s effect has gone beyond the European soccer world.

According to BBC, Drake was spotted at Serena Williams‘ matches in 2015 when she lost to Roberta Vinci in the U.S. Open. And in 2018, he was hanging out with Conor McGregor just before the UFC fighter lost his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

No word yet on Drake’s reaction to the “ban” — or if he’s really cursed.
