DRAKE BEMUSES FANS BY JUMPING ON PARODY REMIX OF PLAIN WHITE T’S ‘HEY THERE DELILAH’

Drake has left both fans and critics alike scratching their heads by releasing a remix of Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah.”

Drizzy teamed up with Toronto rapper/comedian Snowd4y on Monday night (June 3) to put a patois-flavored spin on the 2006 pop-rock hit.

Titled “Wah Gwan Delilah,” the track is only available to stream on SoundCloud and finds the pair singing flippant lyrics with the help of autotune.

“Wah gwan, Delilah? Know I’m late ’cause there’s bare traffic/ I just show my dog your ‘Gram/ He said he knows a man that slapped it, I’m so cheesed/ Your ‘mademoiselle’ nights are geeked, I’m bent lowkey,” Drake croons softly.

He continues: “Wah gwan, Delilah? Double date me if you like me/ Brought my cro’nem for your bestie/ Sorry, he’s wearin’ a Shiesty, he’s not beat/ It’s just too smokey in these streets/ You’re looking sweet.”

Debunking initial suspicions that his vocals were made with artificial intelligence, the 6 God posted the song on his Instagram Stories and wrote: “@snowd4y wake up the city.”

Following the release of “Wah Gwan Delilah,” listeners quickly flocked to social media to share their bemused reactions.

“That n-gga kendrick literally lobotomized drake to the point where hes making and recording absolute gobbledygook,” one user joked, referencing Drake’s recent feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Another person tied the track to J. Cole, who has also raised eyebrows in recent weeks for his awkward guest verse on Cash Cobain’s “Grippy.”

“It’s official. Drake and J cole are in competition on who can feature on the worst song every single week. Wah gwan Delilah isn’t even listenable at all,” they wrote.

Someone else wrote: “I can’t believe that Wah Gwan Delilah song isn’t AI. Dr*ke is trying to fight that Not Like Us charges by going super-duper extra ugly Toronto accent and adding a feature on one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard in my life.”

“Wah Gwan Delilah” serves as Drake’s second release since his high-profile battle with Kendrick Lamar, which he was deemed by many to have lost.

Late last month, he appeared on Sexyy Red’s “U My Everything” and rapped over Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” beat, which the produced had released to taunt to the Toronto native.
