Global Bureau & Authors

How the desks are organized and what the launch-edition bylines represent.

This page explains how LiveTrue News World is organized and, just as important, what the names on launch-edition stories mean. We would rather be clear about it here than let a byline suggest a staff that does not yet exist.

About the launch-edition bylines

The authors credited on current stories are illustrative desk personas created for the launch edition. They are not real journalists, and the biographies and roles shown are descriptive labels, not employment records. The stories they are attached to are likewise illustrative scenarios. When real staff are hired, this page will be replaced with real names, real biographies and real contact points, and the persona bylines will be retired.

The three regional bureaus

The home page groups regional news into three bureaus. They describe the way coverage is meant to be organized, not offices that exist today.

  • Bureau 01, Americas & Europe: infrastructure, energy interconnection, transit and urban farming.
  • Bureau 02, Asia-Pacific: solar power, reef recovery, logistics and maritime innovation.
  • Bureau 03, Africa & Global South: agroforestry, geothermal power, medical logistics and community technology.

The desks

Four subject desks sit across the bureaus: World & Peace, Climate Solutions, Science & Tech, and Culture & Hope. A small fact-checking unit handles the public ledger, and an editorial standards function oversees corrections and the policies on this site. In the launch edition, these roles are described here so that readers know the structure we are aiming for.

Roles you will see on stories

  • Reporters: gather facts, interview sources and write the first draft.
  • Editors: shape the story, challenge its claims and decide what is ready to publish.
  • Fact checkers: verify specific claims separately from the reporter.
  • Standards editor: handles complaints, corrections and policy questions.

What we do not claim

We do not claim a headcount, a global footprint, prior awards or affiliations with other organizations. None of those exist yet. If a future version of this page lists them, they will be real and verifiable.
